Tuesday Afternoon Fellowship Meetings : May update
Tuesday Afternoon Fellowship have enjoyed two more thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening meetings in April.
Our very own Jill Lee made a wonderful Flora MacDonald (complete with wig and full costume) as she recounted her life and the huge impact meeting Bonnie Prince Charlie had on the course of her life. A wonderful afternoon complete with white heather and shortbread with our tea! Thank you Jill you are a star!
We were delighted to welcome Canon Andrew White to our second meeting in the month and this was held in the main Church sanctuary.
Supported by many folk from local churches this was a very well-attended and sweet-spirited meeting.
At lunch prior to the meeting Andrew was presented with a beautiful cake made by Clara. With two tiers of lemon and chocolate - this was shared out with tea after the meeting and everyone enjoyed this very much - a big "Thank You" to Clara. Thanks also to Penny for your home made fairy cakes - all of which were also eaten and enjoyed!!
Our May meetings will include the informative and humorous story of why the lighthouse on the Bridgewater canal was built (this story was postponed earlier in the year due to snow) on 8th May.
An ‘Afternoon with Cole Porter’ will entertain us with music and lyrics and promises to be a nostalgic journey as we recall the impact he had on the society of his day and beyond. This is on 22nd May.
A very special thanks goes to all of those who tirelessly work behind the scenes to serve refreshments after each meeting, and stay behind after Every meeting washing cups and saucers and plates before they leave and the Fellowship could not be what it is without their commitment.
A very big thanks goes to you all - you are wonderful.
